Lights, Camera, Election! How Video Production Could Fix (or Ruin) the 2024 Elections

As a video production company, we’ve seen it all. From shaky iPhone footage that looks like it was filmed by a caffeinated squirrel, to Hollywood-level productions with explosions and dramatic slow-motion. But one thing we’ve never seen? A flawless election campaign video.

That’s right, with the 2024 elections around the corner, we’re here to offer our totally unsolicited advice on how politicians can use video production to really capture the hearts (and attention spans) of the masses. Spoiler alert: it involves fewer political speeches and more drones.

Step 1: The Power of Editing – Cut the Fluff

Election speeches are long. Too long. Let’s face it, no one has time to listen to a politician drone on about fiscal policies when there’s a new cat video trending. That’s where the magic of editing comes in. We can turn that 45-minute speech into a tight, engaging 30-second clip. Imagine the drama:

  • “I believe in change…” (cut to fireworks)

  • “The future of this country…” (cut to a cute puppy wearing sunglasses)

  • “Together, we can…” (cut to the politician awkwardly dabbing)

It’s all about keeping people entertained, right?

Step 2: Campaign Ads – Now in Marvel Cinematic Universe Style

Why stop at a simple video ad? If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Hollywood, it’s that explosions make everything better. Picture this: the candidate, standing tall, heroic music swelling, as they promise to fight for healthcare reform—then BOOM, an explosion behind them (for no reason other than it’s cool). A flying eagle swoops in, the American flag waves in the background, and the candidate pulls out… a lightsaber?

Hey, if it worked for superheroes, it’ll work for politicians. Plus, who’s going to argue with a candidate that can defeat a villainous budget deficit and  Thanos?

Step 3: Livestreams with… Filters

Politicians love a good livestream these days, but what they really need is a little creativity. Enter Snapchat filters. Let’s make things interesting! Picture your favorite candidate delivering a serious policy update with dog ears and a giant, wagging tongue. Or maybe they’ll be talking about economic growth while being transformed into a space alien.

Step 4: Bloopers – The Real Content We Need

Forget debate prep. What voters really want to see are bloopers. Let’s be honest, the political stage is already a bit of a circus—why not lean into it? Show us the behind-the-scenes moments where politicians mix up their words or trip over their podium. A well-timed fall or accidental mic blunder could go viral faster than any policy announcement.

And let’s face it, in 2024, the election might just be won by whoever has the best meme game.

Step 5: Motion Graphics to Explain… Everything

It’s election season, which means lots of complex policies that no one really understands. So, instead of another monotone speech about tax reform, let’s spice it up with some motion graphics. Maybe throw in some animated unicorns to explain healthcare reform, or use a giant talking sandwich to discuss trade policies.

If nothing else, it’ll keep people watching long enough to learn…something. Probably.

In Conclusion: Video for President?

In the end, the future of politics is clear: video production. Because let’s be honest, the only way we’re getting through this election is with a solid dose of editing, explosions, and animated sandwiches. We’re ready for 2024, armed with our cameras, editing software, and a stockpile of special effects that would make even Michael Bay jealous.

So candidates, if you’re reading this—and we know you are—give us a call. We’ll make your campaign unforgettable (and possibly viral for all the right reasons). Just be ready to dab on camera.
